Dashun Forum on Exploring Weighted Voting Rights

Honour to hear from Li Xiaojia, chairman of HKEx, and Vincent Lee, an independent non-executive director, to talk about the rise of new economic enterprises, and reconcile the cause and effect of HKEx changed the listing rules on the introduction of weighted voting rights and biotech companies possibly with no income.

At the meeting, Dr. Wang proposed that under the new economic context, the supervisory role of independent non-executive directors is more important. It is suggested that every listed company in the new economy must have a “governance committee”. He also proposed that the “weighted voting rights” should be named as “super-voting rights.”
